When I had no money there was a '72 Fender Rhodes at a thrift store for $99. Kills me. Kills me so hard.

At age 14, I went to guitar center to buy my first distortion pedal. I was about to buy a Digitech Grunge, but at the last second a salesman told me the Boss DS-1 was better. I didn't have a clue so I believed him.

I can't help but think how different my musical juvenile years would have been if I got the Grunge instead.

I don't really regret anything that I have let go of. There are pieces of gear that I miss, but I'm really happy with what I have today, and all my previous gear got me here.

There's a special 40th aniniversary Mexican Strat.

I found it around 2002. It was on commission at music store for $74. I bought it. It was black with a maple fretboard and a blemish on the neck around 14th or 16th fret. Some years later I traded it and a Gibson Gothic SG for a new Les Paul Studio. I enjoyed the new guitar, but missed my old ones. About a year and a half later, they show up in the same store, a few months apart. So I buy them. Found out th Strat had been sold, traded back in, sold, traded bck in and sold and traded back in before I purchased it. Years later, I sell it again....for pedals I don't even care about anymore because it was before I knew about ILF and didn't know how to research non-mainstream gear.

It has yet to show up. I have the serial number written down this time.

Miss that guitar.... granted...next time I own it I'll pop in some noiseless pickups and make it unsellable. Its got my sweat and blood in it anyway, I need to own it more....learn to not let go. Let it rule me and consume me further

The '77 Hiwatt Custom 50 with matching 4x12 that I sold because I "wasn't playing that much"? Yeah, that one stings.
