Eventides's new loaded H9 Max (and giveaway)

Post by Gone Fission »

All algorithms, including future ones, included in the $799.99 street price. (As in the past, you can share all algorithms across up to 5 units.)

They're giving away a gold-plated one, free entry at the link. Hope an ILF-er wins. That way a TGP-er doesn't have to agonize about swapping his silver Klon for a gold one to match.

The algorithms added are what jack the price up Tristan.
Thanks for the link to the contest, I saw the video pop up on youtube but didn't know of the contest.

I know, I already thought $499 was much though for not including everything but this seems really ridiculous, it's probably the most expensive digital stompbox ever, granted, I don't like it anyway but still...

So if you bought the H9 be on the look out in 4-6 weeks for an Eventide newsletter announcing a discounted upgrade to H9 owners.

All the algo's together would cost WAYYYYYYY more than this. So it's a good deal.

Interesting. I wasn't interested in eventide until I knew all the players that use them.

I didn't hear the answer for the first question.

To make life easier for all who want to enter the giveaway:
1: All future algorithms are free at no additional cost.
2: They used the gold plating guys they used because the plating is harder. (Dudes do plating for NASA.)

wut

Are people seriously gonna pay $800? to use one effect at a time? I know it's a 'saving' but the whole thing was overpriced in the first place, especially considering you have to supply your own interface to program it properly AND buy a midi controller to do any easy on the fly switching AND buy more $400 core units to stack effects. Imagine if line 6 made you pay for adding effects to the M5 without including them all in the first place, nobody would buy that.
Promising future algorithms for free isn't much incentive to keep developing them so I'm really curious to see if the H9 format actually lasts.

Sorry for the rant but I just don't get it at all.

I bought a standard H9 before the core was released. I would have bought a core, because I basically use my H9 as a Pitchfactor-lite.

I don't see the big deal. You buy a core and the standard model I have, with discount if you buy from some place that offers such a thing (whistle) you're looking at 764.15 for both new. Now let's say Eventide lets you upgrade for 200 bucks. 964.15, ok, let's add a midi controller. Let's go with a simple one that's still decent priced DMC-3XL (179)

That's 1143.15 total.

All Eventide pedals used prices would be around 1200 dollars and be six times the footprint. Why is this even a question? I'm not sure I get it. You get so much more for less.

Oh and it says that if you have a MAX it will turn your core models into a MAX. So that's what I meant by that.

Eventide needs to write an adroid app, snobbery!

As for the DRM on the algos... Will people be able to game the system (I hope so) and buy core H9s, and share the Max among multiple accounts? Does "restore purchases" work for the algorithms on the ios interface?
