I'm craving some more fuzz...what to get?

Post by UglyCasanova »

I've been on a crazy delay roll these last couple of months, and now there's only one fuzz unit on my board. It's unexceptable, dammit!

What can I get that does something completely different from this one (it's versatile, I know):

I've also got a Dirge Soda Meiser clone and a Dwarfcraft TGD (with extra gain stage) on the way. I really love the sound of the SS/BS Poly-Grace, but I'm not expecting anyone to sell/trade theirs anytime soon.

Previously owned and not too keen on that same sound again: DE Hyperion, BE The Twosome and W&C Box of War

So, suggestions are welcome!

Something gated like the TAFM or Unpleasant Surprise. I really miss my US. Extremely versatile and unique.

Gee, thanks for correcting my second language. I know what fuzz to get now...

neonblack: Funny. I was just checking out a demo of the Unpleasant Surprise. A little too gated for me, but looks like fun!

The onset knob affects the gate. It doesn't have to be gated at all if you don't want it to.

Just saying... :poke:

It's not a fuzz per se, but I just tried out one of those Glass Hero Sound Saw clones that's been mentioned a bunch (UG demo'd some), and that thing is AMAZING at shaping other fuzz sounds. It loves stacking, and will definitely get you some really cool tones and textures out of pedals you already own.

Thank for all the input thus far, duders! I've got some demo watching to do! Keep 'em coming (twss)! :omg:

Anyone tried the Robot Devil by Dwarfcraft? I know the upcoming Gears pedal will do much of the same (and probably more), but from a few demos I think I might want to check it out. Pros/cons? How is the tracking on the octave?

I know of one for sale :animal:

I might hold out for Gears too. I've got a couple of incoming pedals so it's not that I really need to get another pedal now...but, FUZZ!!!

goroth: I'll follow you up on that. Scandinavian mini tour. I'll let you borrow one of mine

If you like those electric static crackle type sounds that the Poly Grace does then you might want to consider the Industrialectric Incinerator or the SS/BS Mini with crackle / octave mod.
good deals with: the_brow, phantasmagorovich, alexsga, DarkAxel, goroth, The Wood Wizard, Tendollarcat, vbps, monkeydancer, intothegroove, Brobee
