I came across a diagram online about how toggle switches connect... And now i think in using it wrong.
I assumed that with a DPDT toggle (on/on) that with a cap on each side, you select by toggling towards the cap you want.
However... The diagram showed me that it's opposite.... Toggle the opposite of the cap wanted to connect it.
So I'm confused.

The toggle selects the cap on the opposite side. You can test connections with a multimeter.
