Chicago Doom

Post by Vuvuzela »

Anybody on here live in/near Chicago and want to jam on some tunes?
Itching to play some moar dooooooooooom. Maybe through some speedy parts in here and there too.
I just want to play epic tunes and be loud.

If the music could sound anything like HOF, Yob, Black Tusk and toss in the epic-ness of bands like candlemass or doomsword (earlier work)

Sorry if this is just a mess of bands i'm referencing, but that's what i've been digging a lot more lately.

I found my whole band+ on craigslist. I wish they had craigslist when I was a teenager. Craigslist is awesome.

I think it is unusual for people who live in big US cities to have trouble finding people to Jam with. I have a lot of trouble finding people to doom out with. But I live in a small country town in Australia.

Well, like DOS Said, meeting people at shows and getting involved is the best way to get into a project. Craigslist can be one hell of a mixed bag.
Can you run sound? take pics or do a ive recording? lot's of ways to contribute to what bands do without being a part. If, along the way, one of those bands has an opening or you meet some other ronin like yourself, BAM!

I would but I suffer from the same problem as the OP when it comes to finding bandmates.

Try finding people where I live that aren't into country & western. My nearest larger town doesn't even have a music store where I can buy a set of strings. You at least live somewhere where there are a lot of people, which increases your chances of finding cool people to jam with. I can't afford to live in a big city anymore.

I've gone to shows, and i'm actually a studio engineer as well. i've met tons of people, but most folks are already happy with their lineups or don't want to work on another band.
