Meaning when he farts, dust comes out... but seriously he's very stuck in his ways and doesn't like any music past the 70s.Chankgeez wrote:Radiohead625 wrote:... but he's old ...Not sure what this has to do with anything.

A lot of the Danelectro basses are 30" scale and I think they look and sound awesome, if you're into that sort of thing.

I had an epi EB0 back in the day (like 6 or 7 years ago). It feels nice for some one with stubby fingers such as myself and I don't remember having any complaints about the overall body of the sound.
I've always wanted to mess around with one of those squier short scales too.

I played the fender pawn shop reverse jag recently and I really liked it. The neck was pretty chunky, and it may actually be 32" scale, but god damn, it sounded fat. Not a lot of access to higher frets though, thanks to the reverse shape. Dumb design.

Re: Let's talk about short scale basses.
Fender should have used the Super Sonic reverse-offset shape or close to it for all the reverse offset stuff they've been cranking, like those mid-scale basses and the Custom Shop Cabronita thing. Get the visual impact without majorly impaired neck access. A big reason they didn't is probably that the Super Sonic started its life in the Squier line, so not as vintage cred. Whatever, shoulda done it anyway.neonblack wrote:I played the fender pawn shop reverse jag recently and I really liked it. Re: Let's talk about short scale basses.
I wet myself a little thinking about a 24 fret, 30" scale Super Sonic bass. I'd never play lower than the 12th fret on it, not even open strings.
Someone said Danelectro basses; I'm agreeing, they're single coil so they have that 60hz cycle hum but you don't notice it when you play. Also, they don't look like a Fender Jazz and they sound cool palm muted, and with dirt. Very versatile things.
