Had a friend that "put me through" hours and hours of Gundam. :sick:

I'm all for great anime, but why do anime fans like such crappy anime?

I remember watching G Gundam on Toonami when I was like 9. That show still doesn't make sense.

A lot of it isn't written well or animated well...lots of filler... Really makes me wonder what's up. But maybe my friend just had bad taste in anime.

Lots of anime is terrible. FLCL and Cowboy Bebop are, however, pretty awesome. Then again, while Gundam might not make sense, seeing giant robots beat the shit out of each other is pretty entertaining, even if for just a few minutes.

Haha...yeah, Gundam is entertaining a few minutes at a time.

But I definitely agree with you--there are some shining examples of anime. And I'm even gonna admit, there are some silly/crappy/etc anime series I've enjoyed just based on their crappiness or cheesiness. So I'm not here to knock it. Just commenting on a lot of it being filler...and the phenomenon of fangirls/fanboys liking some really poorly done anime.

I agree! I don't mind anime as long as it's enjoyable, and the majority of it is Americanized to the point it becomes unbearable.
