Shredder Basses

Post by WeHuntKings »

I'm looking into getting a long scale bass to tune down super low to match my iceman for my hebbies. I generally want to stay away from anything that has more than 4 strings. What are some cool options?

I remember seeing a Jackson bass that was bassically a dinky with a reverse headstock, but I can't seem to find it anywhere online. It sounded monstrous.

Was it the Jackson Concert bass? The headstock's not reversed but maybe there is a flipped version.

I'd say Hozi shreds the hell out of her fender.

Edit, maybe not the best example but trust me she gets pretty nuts with that thar bass. I like that song though and I'm fucked up waiting for the adrenalin from tonight to wear off

all the Jackson basses I've played have had Pbass shaped necks, maybe they have changed that.. or not… I think out of all my basses my Warlock is the most suited for shredy playing.. the neck is just perfect for playing crazy fast shit on
Second would be my Ibanez Destroyer :thumb:

I will confess that the warlock is my least favorite guitar shape ever. But that destroyer is gorgeous.

Yeah it was the concert bass, but it had 5 strings and a cool reverse headstock.

:idk: yeah, I got the warlock more as it was a great deal and my guitarist has the matching guitar.. That distorter I've had since I was 16, it is such a cool bass. I haven't got to play any of the reissues yet but in general I like Ibanez stuff. As for the Jackson… if what you want is a pbass body with a pointy head look at kramers and charvells and BC rich Gunslingers from the 80's - early 90's :idk:

I'm not really a metal guy, but I got a chance to play a Schecter that would probably make a badass metal bass. I think it was a Hellraiser:

Yeah, my local shop got a used Schecter Silhouette Custom 4 in, and I was pretty impressed by how it played.
