Machina Appreciation

Post by Teej212 »

Machina I doesnt get enough appreciation, including a lack of appreciation from myself up till now. The songs all have an amazing bit to them, for example take heavy metal machine. The riff isnt too creative, but its not bad, but then you get to the chorus, and :omg:

the ambient guitars layered with the synth pads just make for a sonic masterpiece, which are also present in wound, this time, and pretty much the whole album....

just wanted to say how i felt :idk:

I love Machina II a lot more, Vanity and Slow Dawn are amazing. Even the acoustic b sides are sweet.

And the Alternate versions of Heavy Metal Machine are epic.

I of the mourning is my favorite I'd say. And my favorite lyric: "as she counted the spiders, as they crawled up inside her."

For real. A lot of Machina II/F&EOMM is as good as anything they ever did. I don't really dig Machina though.

machina & machina II... totally different albums.
both great on their own terms.

high point
guitar solo in I of the Mourning is mindblowing at every listen.

low point:
Raindrops + Sunshowers. i just don't get it. (and the extended video for ttt..)

The Imploding Voice is such a great and unique song. i always wish for more songs like this.
the fuzz on The Crying Tree of Mercury destroys. gives me shivers just thinking about it.
the album is really well balanced. not front heavy, not too long. the lyrics on every song are perfect.
it's a masterpiece. the singles were really good too and i don't cringe at hearing them on the radio ever.
:omg:

oh. and what an excellent tour!
now posting as Forrrest.
