Recommend me a strap for stupid heavy neck diving guitars
So I was trying to sell my aluminum neck kramers but decided to give them another chance. Really the main problem I have with them is the absurd amount of neck dive. The weight itself isn't a problem, but if you don't constantly hold the neck they just point straight down, especially the bass. Granted, I've never had a wide leather strap to try with them like lots of guys use for heavy guitars. Can anyone recommend a good one that won't break the bank?

Leather strap, the wider the better.
The only guitar I have issues with is a Firebird and I just use an old leather bass strap (no brand) that works a treat. I use Couch vinyl straps on all my other guitars but the Firebird would still dive every now and then and it doesn't with the leather strap because the rough side grips the shoulder.

I got a Perri's Leather suede strap with leather pad thing super cheap on Amazon a few years back. Works well for a semi-hollow shortscale bass with some tendency toward neck dive. Check the 70%-off guitar accessories outlet here and an appropriate wide and/or padded strap will float through really cheaply, especially in the next couple months--straps seem to go cheap about now. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_8_3 ... =591647011

I too recommend a leather strap, my thunderbird is neck heavy and would make a beeline straight to the floor every time I let go of the neck. I now have a leather 2" wide strap for it and while the bass will go parallel to the floor, it won't move farther than that.

Thanks everybody, went ahead and ordered a 3.5" leather one from Amazon, like $13 shipped, should work out alright!

You'll feel like a goober, but it works on my hollow body 12 string, and that thing has the worst neck dive I've ever felt.

Haha I actually sort of tried that, tying the strap to the headstock like an acoustic, but then it would slide the other way and end up pointing straight up.

I had this one: http://www.amazon.com/Planet-Waves-Guit ... B0002GZBLU
And it works really well with my SG and had worked with the Gibson RD bass I once had.
It's a bit short for a tall person like myself (plus the SG/RD have a strap button on the neck joint), but I'll take a higher playing position over neck dive.

I have a Getem strap on my Burns Bison, and no neck diving. Think I paid $40ish.
