I tend to use planet Waves Black Ice Heavy and Xtra Heavy picks for electric, non-strumming.
I tend to use Clayton picks of varying thickness for acoustic and strumming.
I try new picks every time I find a new pick to buy in a store. Tusq picks are fun. I have a few ebony picks. Dabble in about everything. I tend to play unplugged and different picks help set the feel of a song, I imagine them to be the equivalent of pedals to the unamplified sound. I also sometimes mess around with a Jelli-pick....can't find any information on them easily. but its fun.

It really depends on what I'm going to play and what mood I'm in. I haven't bought plectrums in a while, so now I'm just using whatever I find laying around. In my pocket right now I have a glow in the dark one from Dr. Scientist, one with the Echorec logo and some Dunlops that came with a set of strings!
I don't like them too pointy though.

My default is red Dunlop Jazz IIIs, the pointy ones. Honestly don't notice much difference between red and black ones other than that black are easier to lose. I've got the standard reds and the Eric Johnson reds, which are supposed to be different but it's hard to tell.
I also like medium or medium light Dunlop Ultex for standard shaped picks. I really want to try the Jazz III version of the Ultex, but fear it might not be as cool as thick as those come--Ultex was the first material I liked thin-ish. Graphtech's Tusq picks are also cool for thin picks with a really stiff vibe, but those guys are expensive.

I played with Jazz picks all my life, then I accidentally ordered a pack of Dunlop jazz Stubbys, now I can't physically play anything else. ._. It's like I formed a bad picking habit because of the ridiculous 3.0mm thickness of them.

I thiiink they're dunlops.... I wore off the logo on all of them, and need to get some more. I play the really large, triangular picks. I think they're the 1.14mm. I like the extra grip, and the fact that you can play with any of the points.
