I only bought it recently, and paid out the ass for it. Technically I sold a ton of shit on discogs some lady gave me that belonged to her ex husband (spite gift) so I treated myself. Long time want. I remember trying to buy a copy when it came out, damn near impossible.

Great record, right in transition. I haven't liked anything after God is Good, which I'd point as their best record. I feel like we've discussed this before.

Too much going on. Just didn't grab me at all after a couple of listens and I've yet to revisit it.

Fair enough. I will say State of Non-Return was absolutely crushing live. It's now one of those songs that is consistently playing in my head.

Yeah the last Om tour I caught was particularly demanding of the audience.

Not shit, though.

But, most dickheads weren't up to the task.

I bought some used HiFiMan HE-400s and a Schiit Asgard 2 amp and it absolutely blows me away every time I put a new record on. I stopped playing video games because listening to records is just more fun now. I'll have to snap a pic of my set-up.

I'm haven't been able to play video games since I started listening to records either, how funny.

I'm considering some higher end headphones, but I'm love how my speakers fill my apartment. Just always worry it may be too loud. Haven't been pleased with any headphones I've tried yet, always feel they are missing the separation my speakers have.

It's been just under 1 year since I started, but between my girlfriend and I, we are sitting at just under 200 LP's. Luckily a lot of what is like right now can be had very cheap.

I think the separation and soundstage is glorious on the HE-400s, they are a much warmer sounding headphone from what I read (perfect for doom and really heavy music). I'd definitely say if you're looking for a very neutral headphone to look at some of Sennheiser's offerings instead. Even if you don't want to buy a stand alone headphone amp, the HE-400s are fairly easy to drive for planars and I can use just my iPhone with them no problem.

if you love the 400's...and i know you do :thumb: ...you should also consider getting the he-500. they compliment each other quite nicely, though the 500's need a proper amp.

I know you don't have one but do you think the Schiit Asgard would work? If I'm on the high gain setting, turning the volume up halfway is about as loud as I go on the HE-400s
