Soundcloud description:

"Soft Shaper -> Lowpass Filter -> 4-stage Phaser -> Bassman 50w head profile

#fuzz #kemper #profiler"

So as I understand it, this is a profile obtainable on the Kemper Profiling amp?

I must admit, I'm not really a fan of modelling amps and so forth, having used Line6 Spider amps, and also NI's Guitar Rig. I know the Kemper in particularly is VERY highly reputed as modelling goes, but I just prefer having a straightforward amp and pedals :idk:

It's a nice sound, don't get me wrong, but I just don't gel well with modelling.

I know and played the 'amps' you list above, and couldn't agree more. I couldn't live with modeling either.
I still have my tube amps and dozens of (fuzz)pedals, but while I might be somewhat biased because I've been using the Kemper for so long, it's a totally different thing than 'modeling'.
First of all it feels very different from playing a modeler, it feels like playing an amp - but being able to create sick sounds by switching transistors and diodes on a pedal and profiling that pedal in front of a good tube amp with a nice mic (I really like the MXL R144 at the moment in front of a 1x12 cab with a Cannabis Rex) and therefore making that sound instantly available - that's what blew my mind... :)

I will admit, I am not an expert on the Kemper amp by any means. At all

I can't say I've ever come across a bad review of it, I think it's probably just my own ignorance that makes me mentally lump it in with modelling amps haha so sorry if I caused any offence by sticking it into that category! I suspect it's one of those things whereby I need to actually try it out myself to overcome my own bias.

Listening back to the clip again, that phaser does indeed sound awesome though :thumb:

no worries.
it IS a digital guitar preamp, so it's not at all surprising many think of it as 'great, another modeler'
we have been practically conditioned to dislike modeling.

FWIW it is set after the fuzz, but before crunchy amp.
