Re: Acid Splash Designs Fuzz discount to first 10 pm for dee
Ok update the OP with some info. I'll be asking Jeff to work on a mock up of graphics soon, so you have a visual aid in this.
Once these ten spots are filled/if they are filled. I won't be selling these directly here. I will have a webstore open or they will be available a few other ways.

So glad this is designed to work with active basses
Also could you explain how the mid scoop control functions vs. just eqing a mid-scoop?

Well the idea is that the mid scoop control will be adjusted and then applied by stepping on a stomp switch. So you can use a mid scoop if you want, but you don't have to. It gives you the option of changing tones on the fly. I know some people hate mid scooping, so they would not have to mess with it if they didn't want to.
So in a nutshell the midscoop knob only works with that second stomp switch engaged. So you can set it, forget it, and then stomp when you want to use it.

Ok I like the sound of a mid-scooped bass in the right context and can already think of where I'd use it with my band. This is shaping up to be a dream fuzzjwar wrote:Wes Mantooth wrote:So glad this is designed to work with active basses

Re: Acid Splash Designs 8 knob FUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZz
So I'm up against a tough decision here, potentially. Add a cab sim in the pedal or not. A cab sim could potentially make the pedal bigger sounding, but more compressed, or I leave it as is without any cab sim and closer to the Bee Baa. If we alter the circuit too much it won't sound like a Bee Baa at all. Which was kind of the point. hahaha. What do you guys think? We're also looking at a cab sim that doesn't alter the tone as much. So it could still happen, but right now it's a no go.
Also adding a tone bypass switch. I believe that will be awesome. UGH. So much excitement. The fuzz and eq are done completely. So now for schematics and prototyping.

jwar this pedal sounds like it's going to be enormous. :P
sounds like the crazy ass fire breather pedal ShaolinLambKiller has. Available some place in the doom room.
I guess I don't personally find the benefit in the cab sim. But that's such a different strokes for different folks. Like, seriously, if all of my dirt pedals had feedback loops on them I'd be pleased as a pig in shit, ya know.

AHHH!! I forgot about the feedback looper. Hmmm...not sure if it's too late for that. Might be at this point.
I'm really thinking this is going to be a big deal once it's done. Right now it all seems like talk, but a lot is being done behind the scene's.
When you have a dream and a little cash you can make shit happen. It helps to have amazing friend that are smart as shit too.
I'm really, really hoping we'll be able to keep this the size I said too. Before it was going to be TAFM sized. hahaha. But there's about 150 components at the moment and that takes up space. If we weren't doing SMD, we'd be using a 1590dd. I decided SMD based on reliability and space. The PCB would be enormous.

Any suggestions? Shafts? Veins? Veiny Shafts?

This just in:
Prototype spotted.

That's actually SLK's crazy monstrosity but in my head I like to pretend it's Jwar's new fuzz.

I know a mid scoop and a tone bypass wont do the same thing, but if you have a tone bypass I think the mid scoop would be redundant. I knds think mid scoops are dumb, but different strokes...
Plus tone bypasses are sweet for getting loud and raw
or quiter if you have the active eq bumpin. Using the bypassed signal as a main sound the heavy eqing to bring the heaviness could be killer.
