Well the Miku Stylophone can be gotten from Japanese retailers for like $70 shipped to the US if that eases the pain. (One wonders if it's as circuit-bendable as other stylophones-- I kind of doubt it since it seems to be pretty sophisticated, what with USB MIDI and a General MIDI sound module.)
