Need some help fixin' up a DL4

Post by KravenDanger »

So I bought this used DL4 from a guy on reverb and he told me that something was fucked up- Something being that he tried to replace the footswitches and in the process must have torn off a pad Seen here. someone somewhere else advised that I could connect the red wire (which is what was connected to that terminal) to the terminal to the right of the burnt off pad, and then hook up a bodge to the ship at r30, which I did here. It's hard to see, but I got it as close to the trace as I could.

Aaaand then it did this this! I did a factory reset but now it's still fucked up, just in a different LED order. The knobs and switches don't respond besides that, and it seems to be stuck on the same delay. Any clue what to do here?

I don't think you're gonna have much luck unfortunately... I replaced the footswitches on my old DL4 pretty cleanly and it started doing that sometimes still. There's some mystical tendency to fuck up and the insides are built like cat shit so i've never seen one resurrected past that point. So annoying.

Yep...

I also did a pretty clean job at replacing all the f*cked up footswitches in my buddy's DL-4, if I can say so myself...

One of the switches just refuses to work, the leds have minds of their own, and the pedal is pretty much unusable now. What seemed like a pretty straight forward dummy-proof diy mod, tunred into a giant clusterfuck. I'd buy your broken DL-4 for the parts if I had any clue at all about what the hell is going on with my buddy's piece of shit DL-4.

I did the exact same thing to my own DL-4 a couple years ago, and also installed the so called 'double preset' switch. Worked like a charm, nothing to it. Weird :idk:

Have you tried contacting Drasp? Seems to be the go-to guy for modding/fixing DL-4s...

Dunno if he takes in premodded DL4's anymore. I had approached about the volume drop mod on mine a while ago and since it had already had the footswitches replaced he passed on it
