I wanna find the price everyone speaks of. I feel like it'll cost somewhere between a slammi and ring thing.

Bill Ruppert said $130 on a vguitarforums thread on it. He's the guy in the demo and does the Effectology videos for EHX products. Given that EHX gave him the pedal for their demo, he probably knows that of which he speaks.Bellyheart wrote:I wanna find the price everyone speaks of. Btw, the 25 years thing definitely strikes me wrong since EHX was a deceased company 25 years ago. New Sensor was running, but their big product of the day was that mega smash, the Soul Kiss. No Russian Muffs, I don't think even the Red Army Overdrive yet.

The official EHX Reddit account also said $130.

for that price i am definitely going to pick one up. I almost bought a pitch bay, but didn't want to pay ~200 for a pitch shifter i (might) not use a lot.

Bought a Pitch Fork. It's too cool. It should ship by the 20th thru Amazon.
I already plan on dedicating it to my Super Ego loop. I've been waiting years for EHX to make a MicroNanoCelluloPOG to be small enough/cheap enough to fit on my board for this very function, so jumped on it as soon as I saw this thread. My Boss PS-5 will go up for sale as soon as the thing gets here.

Yeah. I'm looking forward to checking one of these out when they become available.
One of my biggest issues with my Whammy is that it had an obvious effect on my tone. I want to see how this sounds/interacts.

I was literally running it in a True Bypass Loop because I could actually here a slight drop in high end even when the signal was bypassed.

I thought the 5 WAS true bypass.odontophobia wrote:Whammy Vneonblack wrote:Which whammy did you have? I'm gassing hard for a bass version but not if its gonna screw with my precious tones.odontophobia wrote:Yeah. I'm looking forward to checking one of these out when they become available.

Re: I spy more new EHX... but what? (Pitch Fork?)
the Whammy V is true bypass, i don't know why it would effect anything when bypassed.
when engaged i agree it colours the tone, overall i thought it sounded pretty damn pristine compared to most other pitch shifters but the high end is a little dull, sure.
i mean, how 'transparent' can a digital pitch shifter sound? i think technology nowadays is pretty damn good for it. unless you're running it after dirt, then obviously it will screw with your tone too much.
you're altering the entire frequency content of the input signal so it's a bit much to expect perfect preservation of 'tone', it's just a matter of finding something that colours it to your taste. i slightly preferred the Boss PS-6 to the Whammy V in that it felt like the upper 'airy' frequencies were more pronounced, the EHX Ring Thing isn't bad either.
overall i think any pitch shifter will sound a lot more 'natural' if you just make sure there's something else in the chain after it that's always on at the same time.
