Not very doom, but I bought a van today. I'm super stoked on it. Imminent murder tint and black paint.

Re: Post your VAN: DOOM edition
My first band ever bought a van from an old church. It was hella old. We took it to an out of town gig on one of our first drives. It was a semi-terrifying experience despite the fact that we had it checked out by a mechanic before the trip but mostly because the out of town gig took us through the fucking wilderness in no-man's land for a few hours of the trip and we wouldn't really be able to call anybody.
It was a sweet van but that's the year that gas prices went through the fucking roof and it would cost $120 to fill the fucking gas tank. I was a college freshman at the time, or sophomore, and I couldn't afford it based on my part time gig serving coffee and making sassy Blood Brothers inspired hardcore. I sold it for $300.
In some of the in-between stages I had been playing some faster grindy jams and at that point we spray painted a pentagram on the top because we were very cutting edge. I think we put 666 on there, too.
I sold it to a friend of my brother's for $300 and I'm pretty sure he hot boxed everybody in our town in that fucking thing. We used to call him Jay Weed. So there's that.
Now that I'm older I just want a sweet camper van with airbrushed scenes from a Boris Vallejo calendar. I want to drive my wife and dog cross country, hanging out in the woods and shit.

That is an awesome story. And the little lady and I plan on doing the same.
