Cabs - anyone have (better) plans for a TL606?

is this the best we can do? seems sort of chaotic, but I'm not a woodworker

thinking of having one built with an Eminence Kappa inside. This weekend I'm buying an Ampeg SVT15E copy with Eminence Kappa and I know the speaker sounds BITCHIN' in a Thiele-style cab. Played the Orange 115 and holy shit those Mids sound so CLENCHED

and since I'm a fan of 15" speakers, I want something to pair up with the Ampeg clone not this month, but soon. Asking around for local people who are good with woodwork (already got some tips from friends). I would love to give them decent plans.

truth to be told, I would not mind having another SVT cab. But I really dig the TL606 construction with a good speaker and they're not much bigger than the SVTs I think, so I really don't care. Worst case scenario - I'll just have a dude measure my SVT and have a copy built

ps: fuck, if I had the money now, I could buy a TL606 with an Eminence Kappa LF right now it's even pretty cheap... might sell my Ditto X2 to fund it maybe ... I don't really use it, especially on bass

Ditto will be pretty easy to replace.

I don't know if you're on Talkbass or not, but I'd pose the question over there. That cab gets a lot of love -- and I actually was able to pick up mine from their Classifieds for a song.

I realized I might have to sort of split the rig between the two bands (and eventually take both cabs to shows if possible) for practical reasons, so having two cabs would be super nice

mailed the guy asking if he'd be interested in a trade... they're similar value (it's a DIY built so not expensive) ... wish me luck I guess

just got the Ampeg clone. A really good cab really happy so far

Sold the Ditto X2, getting a DOD/Digitech PDS 2000 on teh cheapz instead... I don'T need a traditional looper much anyway, I'd only make drones and atmospheric stuff with it anyway, so the PDS might be better

and currently organizing the pickup for an Orange 115 (TL606) clone with an Eminence Kappa LF got myself a friend with a car, it's just a matter of free time now... WOOOOOOOOO

ps: not entirely sure about the LF speaker. But my rig is far from muddy, so it might work out well

The real Orange has an Eminence Kappa in there, but I don't believe it's an LF. Muddy is not really an adjective I would use to describe it. Dubby certainly is, though. Booming, too.

Is it possible to make one of these a 215 or would it be better to go for fEarful style cab?

Yeah, that's why I bought the Ampeg copy - because it had the Kappa in it and I know how it sounds from trying the Orange and it indeed is not an LF, it's the regular.
