Don't have a ton of experience in this matter, but I used to have a fuzz factory, like everyone else, and went on from there.

Ended up with a Fuzz God II. It can do more useable classic fuzz tones better than the fuzz factory could. Easier to dial in, not as noisy, etc.
The glitchy weird part of it might not be quite as extreme as on the ff, which imo gets out of hand and uncontrolable real easy. Not even in a good way, squeels and overbearing feedback have their time and place:)

So yeah, I'd agree with UG that the FGII might be a more user friendly version of the Fuzz Factory. I can't find good use for mine for the sort of stuff I'm playing lately, but if I did, I wouldn't feel the need to look among the zillions of other really nice similar options out there.
Top notch build quality , and the ablity to release or stop the chaos by just stomping the extar switch..Weird almost that it cost me less than a fuzz factory.

So no, this is NOT sneeky spam, my FGII is no longer FS, I flipped enough other stuff to solve my little cash flow problemo.

Also, on the wolf computer: It's a pure glitch machine imo, maybe even more so than the fuzz factory. Not that it's impossible to get more 'useable' tones out of it. In fact, it actually did this one smooth zippery setting that makes me regret selling it. But it mostly shines at synthy gated mahem and throbbing motor boating.

I guess the Fuzzhugger AB synth should be in the same league as the Fuzz God II. I haven't messed with the AB synth myself, but juding by the demos, both pedals seem to do a similar thing, and going by the amount of knobs and footswitches I would assume they should be equally tweakable :idk:

have you considered talking to tom about a custom pedal/two in one?

I sure did. I will probably have to get that Thujone Extract though, as that will fit neatly on my board, and I like the momentary aspect. But I still want a big ol' oscillatory fuzzer that I can grab when I don't wanna carry the board around. Right now the Silver Apple seems like the way to go, but having learnt from past mistakes I'll take some time considering, watching demos of all of you guys suggestions.

That AB/Arcade-clip sounds rad, Syl!

Ok, so I realized this will be a longtime project. So much I want to try.

Anyway, last night I had a couple of beers, and ordered an AB-synth 5k (possibly 6k). It is suggested so often, that it would be stupid of me not to try one out (that was what I told myself, anyway). I might get one of the other suggestions as well in the near future, and several of them in the distant future.

Good one! I really want to try that 5k. What is the possible 6k?

MLC - there was a time earlier this year when like 2 or 3 polygraces turned up in the bst within a few weeks of each other.
It hurt.

Dunno what the possible sixth knob is, but would guess it's one of the ones from the Supreme version? Tom just said that he might be able to make it a 6k if I had carefull feet. How could I resist that?

Uglyface, for sure. It's been on my board forever. Actually, there was mention of hooking it up to a sequencer, but I haven't had time to try it yet.

Joe Gagan's Skyripper fuzz is excellent as well. Lot's of craziness available there, especially if you plug a wah into the Ripper loop.

I'm putting the final touches on the Schumann Two Face clone. It's been a bit of a slog on this one, because it can sound very different from one set of transistors to the next. Not "bad, or "good", just different, so it's taken a while for me to get the selection that I really like. You want oscillating fuzz up the wazoo, this is it. It does everything from straight forward fuzz, PLL style squarewave fuzz, to whacked out, beyond Fuzz Factory stuff. It's very controllable from the guitar controls as well, volume and tone. The hyper-important part is transistor selection, and voltage setup. You get that right, and... Houston, we have lift-off. I've got a purely Russian civil war going on inside mine, with GT404's on the NPN side, and GT402's on the PNP side. It sounds insane. Way better than the videos on Youtube now, and puts the original one that I dissected to shame. Those NTE transistors that Schumann used were Scheisse.

Added bonus; I separated the drive controls, so each side can be driven separately, unlike the unified control of the original. Also, I've added germanium or silicon diode selection in oscillation mode. This enhances the low frequency oscillation (think motorboating). Set just right, you can get a great squarewave tremolo chop fuzz, with hints of lower octave blended in.

So, all I can say for now is, sit tight, wait for my video and build report on the Two Face, and scope out reputable builders in your area. I'm just waiting on a switch to show to finish it. After you see the video, you might be calling that builder. Hell, tell him to build you an Uglyface, and/or Skyripper too, you'll be set for life.

Now back to regular programming.

Dude, thanks alot for the input! Theres definitely an Ugly Face in my near future, that Skyripper also seems neat. Would be cool to run it with my Suneater and totally destroy the atmosphere. Looking forward to your vid. Hmm, maybe I should head over to the shark tank...

Oh, yeah, besides the AB-Synth, I've also got a Wolf Computer incoming.

the noise swash is dope, you can get some seriously nasty tones/loops going. Their tri-phaser is also worth checking out.

On the pll front you should check out the snazzy fx mini-arc, it's like the Schumann pll on steroids.
