Ewww
EDIT:
Tracked down some .24w strings, going to try these again:

The G string absolutely sucks on these, but I find all the other strings in the set perfect for Drop Bb/A#.

ahahahha YES. I love that set other than the Ggunslinger_burrito wrote:I've played the Ernie Ball "Not even slinky" set. It has that plain 24, and it felt like a coat hanger to me.

Yeah EB makes cool sets. I like how even their 11s have a much heavier bottom end than say, D'addarios or whatever. I just wish I could find a set that's something like 14, 18, 28, 38, 49, 72. Then I'd be set. I'm so tired of franken-sets because nothing feels "just right" to meskullservant wrote:ahahahha YES. It's more of a hassle, but you could definitely buy singles of the gauges you want to make your own custom set. Could buy a few sets at a time for less bother.gunslinger_burrito wrote:Yeah EB makes cool sets. I like how even their 11s have a much heavier bottom end than say, D'addarios or whatever. Yeah, the only issue is that the 56 they they tend to have in there is a bit too heavy for my playing style. I need to check out some more 7-8 string sets, though.skullservant wrote:Have you looked into the 6 string baritone sets? You might also be able to do something similar with a 7 or 8 string set and just ditch the extra strings
That's what I was doing, but there's no shop in town that sells the singles that I need. Especially no single 70-something sized strings. Time to order everything online......friendship wrote: It's more of a hassle, but you could definitely buy singles of the gauges you want to make your own custom set. Yeah I think I'm going to try those D'Addario Jazz Lights and just try to adapt my bending technique to a wound Gs. Better intonation and tone is worth it I reckon.

friendship wrote:Yeah I'm enjoying them. a wound G is easier to bend than I remember, which is good. And god damn do Filtertronsguitars ever sound great with fat strings.
