NPD - sleeper cheap octave pedal

got it from work, it was on display and seems to be discontinued now, so i got a really good deal. Was a bit sceptical at first, but then I brought it to a gig and damn.

It doesn't have as much control over the sound that's usable as it might seem. BUT you can really boost your low end on this one... plus it has a ring-moddy mode as well for super synthy sounds! Tracking seems pretty similar to OC-2s and the like

I use it on bass, my favourite combo is Deep Dive -> Fingerprint (synthy squarewave setting) -> Ibanez AW7. The nastiest fucking analog synth lead sound i've been ever able to get :thumb:

might be able to provide some clips from our show soon, since all of it has been professionally recorded and semi-professionally filmed

I've looked at this pedal numerous times when researching octave below pedals, but I didn't know anyone who actually owned one and video demos seemed to really vary in terms of it's capabilities.

So far I think I'm set on the MXR bass octave deluxe (mo control over the octave tone yo), but I'm really interested to see how this one sounds! Might sway my mind

Looking forward to clips :D

Additionally, I wonder why it's been discontinued?

Probably because they were right around $100 new which is more than most people (myself included) are willing to pay for a no-name pedal. I've been interested in one of these for a while and will definitely pick one up if I can snag a good deal. The dude from a Great Big Pile of Leaves used one when I saw them and I do remember it sounding pretty good.

To be honest, trying it for the first time, I wasn't really THAT impressed

(also - this is my first octave pedal, so i'm only getting into it)

BUT with an amp cooking behind me through a big cab, in a live mix, I really FELT what it was supposed to do. It really gave the bass a lift and made it awesomely subby in a really smooth and full way, but still not coming in a way of the guitars or drums. Add some dirt on top of it and it becomes pretty huge. definitely check it out if you come across one of them

I've been looking into this or the MXR for my Bass VI board. I'd also be interested in clips.
