Just a comment on Sweetwater...

Post by aeonrevolution »

They have to have the best customer service of any company I've ever bought anything from!

Doesn't seem to matter how small an order I place, someone from their company calls to say when the product has shipped and answer any questions. Got my box in the mail today with a 1Spot power supply and they threw in a huge bag of candy

Funny, I hate that about them. The whole reason I order online is because I don't want to be hassled by calling them up. If they call me, it defeats that purpose. There is a note on my account never to call me. Besides, the real reason they call is to try and sell you more stuff, even if very subtle about it.

Yeah, I find them annoying too. I bought something from them on ebay. When it arrived, it didn't work. I tried to message them on ebay. They never responded. So I emailed them. One of their sales guys called me. He went on and on about how they'd love to do business with me and asking me questions about what I look for in a retailer and blah blah blah. But, after being on the phone with him for like 10 minutes, he still didn't process my return. He wanted me to check it again and then call the tech guys. So, I had to check it again (still didn't work) and then call their tech folks and, once again, explain to them that it didn't work before they sent me a replacement

To be fair, everyone was very nice. But, I really didn't want the sales treatment, I just wanted an item that worked.

This. Their "subtlety" comes off very unsubtle to me.

I've had only positive experiences. I usually ignore the phone call and everything's fine. But they've never pushed anything on me, and been quick to respond when I've had issues, sending power tubes or replacements for defective products right away, no questions asked.
Good deals on ILF: too many to list, just ask!

yeah, a salesman calling you after you already placed your order is like an auto salesman riding shotgun in your new car as you drive home from the dealership. just leave me alone, man. my needs are already met.

now, a 1spot and candy i can get down with...

I already changed it once, I don't think Tom will let me change it again.

lmao, dude.

Anyway, I do appreciate some of sweetwater's services (like being able to pay in installments if you're broke as shit, which used to be a common occurrence for me), and they do have actually great customer service. They can definitely be a little too...enthusiastic, though. Also, I have a lot of random candy around now because I need to lose weight.

I had heard about their good customer service, so I emailed them once to ask about reamp boxes and never heard back. :idk:

I also dislike them for reasons mentioned. Their "customer service" is a well-trained sales department.

I had an issue with an order (The PO claimed it was stolen off my doorstep.), and even though they kept calling me, the only thing they offered was free shipping on a new order.

I realize they didn't have to do anything, but I was very annoyed that salesmen were calling me after they showed no interest in making me happy.

ive always been fairly satisfied with them. Never had a bad experience and my sales rep (bob) isn't bothersome, but he is super fucking knowledgeable about a whole lot of things guitar and pro-audio related. He has helped me stay equipped through good times and bad. When I wasn't ordering from them he would call me once every three months and leave a brief message.

I know that everyone experiences things in different ways, but sweetwater is a powerful entity dealing in all things common place. I don't rely on them or anything even slightly obscure in nature and was not suprised when no one there could tell me shit about a Leipzig S.

Again, not for everybody, but a line of credit with them goes a long way. Tons of shit at zero interest for 24 sometimes 36 months. I had a little mediocre credit when I opened mine, and it's done wonders for my report.

Not trying to take sweetwater to bed or anything, but they do mail you fucking candy.
but what are guitar pedals...really..?
