Vintage Orange cab info wanted

Post by frigid midget »

Tell me what you know about the OR412 please.

Birch ply? How thick? Weight, size? Stock speakers? And what would you guys say the average street value would be?

I'm assuming the current line of Orange cabs is about the same as far as specs and overal build quality goes, except that they come with V30, opposed to whatever was in the old cabs (Celestion G12T-75?).

Google doesn't seem to bring up much, so if anyone's got the answers or a helpfull link or whatever, I'd appreciate it.

I've got one from the 70s. Heavy but I can pick it up. 4 Celestion g12m greenbacks in there which I believe are original.

The old ones came with either celestion G12M's of some sort (green black cream gray), or square back eminences. Those originally imported came with two or three heads shipped in them to save in freight costs. The importer just loaded the. With emies when they got here.
New ones are the same size. 11 ply Baltic birch. They sound rad.

Thanks.

I'm looking for something that'll cost me a bit less than what my old hiwatt cab can fetch me, which is btw ungodly heavy.

Orange cabs are heavy. I don't know how they are relation to a Hiwatt though. Im sure you can get one for less than your Hiwatt though. They seem to go for around $600 for modern ones. It's a solid value.
