I was just joshin around. They are both shin-ei circuits. And if it were me I would get both
If you are looking for more diverse sounds get the superfuzz, but they are both favorites of mine. If you decide on the superfuzz know there are many other variants based on the circuit that are different flavors on the theme...ibanez Standard Fuzz, Ace Tone FM-2 to name a couple.
Lesson is you can't go wrong with either the fy-2 or fy-6....amazing circuits.

i heard there is a volume drop when using the FY-2, is it true? coz i didn't find the issue in those youtube demos. just don't wanna waste money to get it and sell it soon after.

some fy-6 have volume drop issues, for sure. but not like the fy-2, or just like the fy-2 depending on how you look at it. just get a modern clone made that takes care of the volume drop if its that of a concern is what I would consider. but in my experience no clone sounds exactly like the real thing, and i want the real thing warts and all.

actually i have a wattson electronic fy2 but i found its totally different things with the vintage one, so eventually i sold it out. just don't want to spend much for a pedal with volume drop issue -.- i hope i can find the vintage fy6 anyway..but probably i would choose the super fuzz its sound epic..

This is ILF: the answer will always be "save up and get both."

With so many builders with great reputations here on ilf alone, you should be able to find what you want for less than you might imagine....unless you want vintage units and then yeah it can get expensive, especially when you have to have every superfuzz variant too.

Yeah, I'd also just get a great clone or boutique version of both, instead of spending way too much on a vintage one that won't be as durable/solid/noisefree :idk:

not always the case, specifically aged parts i think sometimes give a vintage pedal their mojo lol. as far as spending way too much, well that's subjective and sometimes when you want THAT sound you have to pay THAT price. :idk:

for sure buying vintage pedals can be a crapshoot
