Dudes gotta learn to pick their battles. It's fine to occasionally throw a fit about something but when you do it too much it overshadows your music. You don't want people's first thought when they hear your name to be "what bullshit are they up to now" instead of "oh, that band with that awesome song/album I like". It would have been more amusing to pop out a quick song making fun of Pitchfork or reviewers than to throw a titty baby tantrum.

Fuck pitchfork. I don't think they have any credibility and people should remember they are a review site, not a fact site. Any album could be great to one and dull to another. Most of their top albums I definitely don't agree with but its all subjective.

I also wouldn't do something like this after a bad review. Not a good look.

Whirr is made up of the chillest people Ive ever met... with that being said, who they are in real life is nottttt who they are on the internet. . .

they get a bad rap for being this immature band that everyone seems to hate, but that only happened because people (literally the dumbest people) are SO quick to react to their antics. and of course in time, they become this band, that first and foremost, gets recognized by the opinions of others rather than the music itself. thats pretty lame in my opinion. when i found out about them, I had no idea about their online quarrels and was thoroughly impressed by their sound. when I found out about the negativity surrounding them I instatnly thought "wow people are really ACTUALLY mad over this shit? how can you take these dudes seriously like that?"
I just shake my head when people literally get their panties in an uproar over what they say online.

theyre not being serious, at fucking all. it just sucks that so many people get trolled easily these days, just go to show how uptight some people are. but realistically, now that this negative image of them has been established, they love pushing peoples buttons because in the end, they get the last laugh for not being serious whatsoever, yet having waves of people mad for no real reason at all...

they're a great band. fuck what goes on with the internet, and just listen

appearance is all that counts :hobbes:

^ Exactly what I said earlier. It's just their online schtick, gets a rise out of people so they tend to roll with it.

Speaking of Pitchfork, The Onion just did an article about their review on music as a whole, gave it a 6.8. Pretty hilarious read.

I don't know. They may be nice dudes in real life, but I just don't understand the troll mindset.
To me, trying to get a rise out of people for your own entertainment doesn't make any sense, especially when you're in a position to promote yourself.
Personally, the juvenile lashing out (especially if just to satisfy themselves) has soured me on them as a whole, regardless of the music.

I think 'not being serious' doesn't make it okay to call people pussies and just be a general dick.

There's a fine line between trolling and telling people to go fuck themselves that they're not doing a great job toeing.

These are the dudes who had to change their name right after they just started, right? I don't think I've really ever had any desire to listen to them. If you guys want a band that's not afraid to go tell people to go fuck themselves, listen to Oxbow.

I love reverb just as much as the next guy, but when a band drenches their sound in it and all I can make out is the really cool and energetic drums.... I can't really get into it.
