they claim it has nothing to do with the review but I doubt this would have happened with a 9.

Never seen a shoegaze band say this kinda stuff before. Maybe it's been there the whole time, incoherently mumbled between waves of vibrato.

I wish all albums were judged on this scale.

You have to see the tumblr page... Can't remember the link but just google it, tons of fun, or a waste of time.

Most boring band I've ever seen, and I usually try to stay positive on all the live shows...

That's kinda their schtick, maximum shit talk. Just ask theavondon. He hilariously ruffled their feathers on FB awhile back.

I've never seem 'em live but their albums bore me to death. I can get down with Nothing but Whirr blows.

I don't mind really, they crack me up. Only way they could annoy me is bringing bad press on Graveface. I would fight pirates and/or space wombats for Ryan, guys been a real bro to me in the past.

Yeah, they haven't managed becoming successful very well and I trust a lot of amateur reviewers on sputnik more than a lot of the (poorly) paid reviewers on pitchfork. Even when I agree with a score they have given it's usually for completely different reasons. Not that any journalist worth their salt should use scores anyways because they are fucking pointless and are only used by lazy shits and (even more pointless) score aggregates like metacritic. Their "news" section reads like a tabloid magazine as well, almost as bad as Rolling Stone.

Yeah, now that I have actually written that out pitchfork can fuck off.

yep, let's do a written review then condense it into a number between 1 and 10 to be passed off as an objective value judgement of the music in question, so that people can make their minds up about how 'good' something is before they even listen.

Pitchfork a shit. There are thousands of cool blogs that write short reviews consisting mainly of actual facts about the music and musicians and comparisons to similar acts, maybe some light personal opinions, that are an infinitely better source than pitchfork.

Whirr are a pretty useful tool for us all to learn how not to act on social media if you want people to take your band seriously though.

I will say that while I don't take Pitchfork's review scores as gospel or anything, I have heard of some pretty decent bands through the site, that I may not have found otherwise.

Sputnik is good too. A little more screamo tweeny stuff on there, but that's better than the bullshit genius new electronic flavor of the week. Whichever guy mumbles into a mic over bleeps and bloops and is named best new music.

Yeah, you know youve taken your shit talking schtick too far when even people offering words of encouragement get the same smartass treatment as the haters.
