anybody into this band. i just found out about them. i saw a video on youtube where it's like two guitars, a bass & someone playing drums on an MPC drum-pad. i am pretty much a sucker/slut-piece for bands like teh Cocteau Twins (or JAMC...) that jettison drums for drum-machines. or use synth bass instead of a traditional bassist. just any little deviation like that.
Well, I have no doubt I'd love them if I could, but me and my band is currently in pitched war against the Hipsters, and they've claimed The xx as theirs. At least we still have LCD Soundsystem...
I want a giant bunny and I want a bunch of regular bunnies and they will form a hive mind and the giant bunny will be the queen bunny and they will attack in swarms.
i didn't knmow that they were a "hipster" band. if that were teh case you'd think i would've heard of them sooner?
i agree w/ sev. not mindblowing. but at this point anything that sounds half-way decent to me or doesn't sound like an abject cliche, gets me interested...
that's what so shocking about them they're not really mind blowning and yet i can't stop talking about them mostly about how non mind blowing they are but, how i still really like them alot

thats such an odd yet completely accurate description of them i hope they have lasting power.
It doesn't have to be mind blowing, but anything memorable? or that stands out? I have heard this band a few times but don't really remember it. If there's any particular tracks to check out I would give it another chance.
I like their overall low-keyness. Not everything I listen to has to be mind-blowing. Well-put together and just plain good works just fine. There's a mumbly sexiness about the two vocalists that I find really appealing.
i get down with the xx. this girl i'm hangin out with listens to them constantly. i love chilled out jams so they definitely work, reminds me of early stars records.
I've got a fuzzbox and i'm not afraid to use it

I feel like the only person who dosn't like this band I got the album and was like "Is this it?" sounds like they're all still learning there instruments or something imo. I wish i liked them so i could be cool.

it's cool you don't like it. i tend to be drawn to more understated stuff anyway. i don't need to be blown away. i don't need instant gratification. i like to to be challenged.
