Speaking of two bassists and a drummer, I cannot recommend No Anchor enough:

VOLCANOES are good dudes and put on a good show. Some of the lyrics on the new album are horrible; I recommend Heavy Hands for new listeners.

If anyone's interested in their gear, I know it's a Gibson Grabber, microsynth and some other pedals I can't remember, and a wall of various amps. Keys are all MicroKorg.

And they switch on the drums, which is awesome.

I've been listening to this a lot lately, and man! So good!

I really want to know what the bassist's board looks like. Every song has a different fuzz tone! I can't tell what's bass and what's synth.

It's good shit! Been listening to it for a few days now.

Bummer about the bandramallama though. Always sucks when that happens.

Yeah I'd love to see them play, but since I'm no where near St Louis that prolly wont happen anytime soon.

HOLY FUCK Volcanoes rule! Never heard of them until the DFA thread and they're local to me wtf! It's like the love child of a DFA/Locust/Lightning Bolt/Blood Brothers orgy. So good! Their 2012 record Heavy Hands is way better than the new one tho imo. Way more creative and outside-of-the-box.

Thanks for the heads up Joe Gress!

They tour a bit.

@neonblack Other than the grabber, their gear looks like they walked into guitar center with a few grand and never bought anything else. I'm not saying it's bad, just that I've never seen them use anything mysterious. You can see my earlier post for what I do remember.

This is so true!

The lyrics on Heavy Hands could be shitty as well but the way the vocals were recorded all drenched in verb and distant sounding may cover that fact. Either way I LOVE every aspect of Heavy Hands, amazing record, but I just can't get into the new one. Should've buried those vocals again and the song structures are kinda straight forward and boring. Almost sounds like a step backwards.

Bit of a necro bump but only saw this thread now. I kinda know the synth player in No Spill Blood so here are some pics of his synths/studio setup for those of you who were wondering
