Just saw King Buzzo with his acoustic guitar the other night, that was cool.

And then there's that one man blues-trash-(gospel)-rock guy, Reverend Beatman - he's amazing. Playing guitar, screaming his lungs off and stomping on some drum-stuff.

Echoing Mylets, that kid is a fucking inspiration.

Anyone on ILF do the one man band thing live? I'm sure there has to be a few apart from myself.

I do the one man band thing under my moniker Thurber Mingus (big surprise!). I've only played two shows and I have a couple more coming up, but I don't really have anything recorded. As soon as I'm in a real band the one man will be put on the back-burner.

Interesting...I'm looking to do this backwards. I'm working on recording first hopefully getting shows started next spring. What kind of audiences/bands have you played for and how was it received?

So far it's just been shows set up by my friends with my friend's bands playing, but everyone has been pretty receptive so far. I pretty much play instrumental Mylets worship and people seem okay with it. I'm playing with some folk band next week and Empire! Empire! next month. I will report back after those shows happen.

This dude rocks for a one man band. Feels kind of like Jack White minus the ego and plus a ton of energy:

I can't post youtubes at work but:

Crawl - awesome heavy doom stuff, dude plays drums and a big ol' bass string strung across a pickup / metal bar / cow spine thing through a tonne of amps
Mammal - not the horrible australian nu metal band. Dude, bass, some amps, occasionally some drum machine and vocals.
unFact - David Wm. Sims solo stuff, haven't heard it though.

I do one man band stuff sometimes. Baritone guitar and voice both running through a whole heap of delay and verb. It's fun.

I play drone/doom/noise, and I've played a number of shows, almost all of them were me by myself. A couple were me with my friend making harsh noise alongside. I've been wanting to write actual compositions, but most of the stuff I do is improvised. Sometimes I'll have some riffs that would be good for drones and looping, so I'll plan on using them throughout my set. I like the spontaneity though. When I play a show, I don't know what's going to come out. It's exciting. Anyways, I have links in my sig. Like my live performances, the recorded stuff is like 90% improvised. "Fangs of Bhairava" is a good example of about where I'm at these days with my style. http://hyle.bandcamp.com/album/fangs-of-bhairava

Ok, I'm done plugging myself now.....
