Oh shit, yeah, go get that haha. Also, there's a shard in the well right outside the mansion there. You'll have to hit the rock on the outside to make it rise out

Sweet. Got the flask and first upgrade. Should I be popping these lost undead and nameless soldier souls?

That's up to you. You come across a fair bit of souls like those. I usually keep a few on hand just in case I'm in jam and need some.

Okay, I'm starting to see how Dark Souls can be such a consuming game.
Started to climb a short ladder in the castle-y bit of Forest of Fallen Giants and a big ol' bird dropped a big ol' dude. I did not finish the short climb.

Thinking about buying a good gaming laptop instead of making a new build. Mostly because, we only have airconditioning in only one rooms of my house and I am not spending another Aussie Summer gaming in my tiny bedroom. So fucking hot. Then I could still hook up my massive "27 monitor or do to Steam Big picture thing on a tv. Pumped.

I only seem to play Mass Effect and Deus Ex routinely on loop, I don't really need graphics.

Lol that's one of the bosses later in that level. That's the only time he'll spawn there.

Word. I sat there deciding whether or not to engage and just knelt down and sank into the ground.

Huh?

That guy can be a big asshole that early in the game.

Heide's Tower of Flame (giant dudes in the "Castle area") isn't actually all that bad once you learn their patterns and range of attack. They're reeeally slow. I had to wiki a bunch of shit when I started since the game doesn't explain dick to you about leveling and whatnot. Words of advice: be cautious when encountering new enemies, and don't get greedy with your attacks, when you clear a room or area of enemies, search every nook and cranny for treasure or hidden paths (just be careful not to fall off of any cliffs :thumb: ). There's a lot in the game, and some of that stuff can be really helpful.

Yeah if you are fighting the Pursuer as a non-boss, they just sink into the ground if you fail to engage or run away. When you encounter two of them in the Throne Room in Drangleic sometimes one just leaves while you're still fighting, makes things wayyy easier

Good to keep in mind. I haven't been able to time my parry for shit when it comes to the pursuer. I messed around with it for a while in the Smelter Demon room, but couldn't really keep it up.

The Pursuer is tough and that lunge-stab is devastating. I've always just used my go-to Souls strategy, keep your shield up and strafe. Havel's Shield and a Curved Dragon Greatsword have been my friends.

Man, I want some dope equipment. I'm just stuck with a silver eagle kite shield and homunculus mace.

also, if you've got a petrified something/smooth and silky stone, go back to things betwixed and leave them in the birds nest for random gear.
