I really like the bridge pickup setting on my friends Squire classic vibe tele more than the neck.
edit: I think this may have do with there being something wrong with the neck pup, he said when he brought it home it was really low output. Right now there is significantly less output on the neck than the bridge, but I don't know tele's too well, how high is the neck pickup in YOUR tele?

yeah, mine's definitely higher than that. You know you can adjust it by taking off the pickguard, right? you can probably even do that without removing the strings.
Mine is closer. And I use my middle/neck position more than anything. Also you may like the treble pick up on the tele due to (imo) the tele has nice natural low end, and the bridge gives a sweet well rounded tone (at least with my rig). Anywho here's a pic.

Looks low to me too, but I took the neck pickup out of my tele a while back... That's going to change soon though I'm planning on putting in a bucker up there for added heaviness, I also added a 7th string so the low E now has a octave for even more added heaviness
Also keep in mind that tele has been thrown to the ground at least three times.... and one time the neck pick up popped out and i just popped it back in. But still sounds huge.
