Yeah, the Semaphore seems to be a good option, but man, the presets on the Empress... :)

I love the diamond Trem. Between the wave shapes, the rhythmic patterns, and the tap tempo it's super versatile. My favorite setting is the chaos rhythm with a super fast tempo.

2011 I A/B'd the Diamond, Empress and a Red Witch. I thought the Diamond and the Empress were far better than the Red Witch, and I dug the Empress more than the Diamond, although both are good. Bought the Empress and it hasn't left my board since. Wouldn't mind a V2, but you can't use the presets with tap tempo.

You can also use the Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl as a trem... and it has presets...

I didn't think about using that as a Trem. Wow that could awesome. I may try that one out.

Just got this today. It is the real ordeal. Matched with the A/DA Flanger, Demo Tape Fuzz, and some Flickinger Spaghetti Western verb, I can make sweet sounds reminiscent of being in some sort of insect infested cave with an ever present threat of being eaten alive.

In conclusion, fuck the Empress 2.

Any clips appreciated :thumb:
Did you research this vs. their other tremulator? Or what ever it's called. :thumb:

Yeah, I looked at the other one too, but I liked the Taff much much better.

I am sure I can get a clip up.

Here is a pretty unhelpful clip, but I thought I would post it anyway. I can make another later that shows off more of it. Its a pretty neat pedal.

I had my Moog CP-251 plugged into it, but my settings weren't really that extreme at the filming of this clip, so it is not really affecting it that much. You can get some cool things going with it though.

Pretty sweet unit. I really like their bitcruher/delay, Wish it were decked out in those wooden side panels. That whole lineup looks really interesting.
Thnks for the clip, keep them comming :thumb:

Yeah I liked your clip of that delay. I would like to get it but I may just experiment to see if I can achieve a similar effect by placing a bitcrusher in the fx loop of one of my current delays.

I often use the oto biscuit in the f/x loop of a Moogerfooger 104. Insane textures. Quite different from the dreadbox though.

I just got the Empress Tremolo2 on my hands and man, that thing is really useful and too much fun! I love the size, shape and the different LED colors for each preset. I didn't like the switches and the awkward power jack placement.

Thanks to my gf and the 15% discount of Prymaxe :hobbes:

I see you already bit on the Empress. Very cool pedal. If you end up wanting more, then I HIGHLY recommend giving the Gig-FX Chopper a whirl. It's excellent, and also does one of if not the best rotary speaker emulations I've ever heard from a pedal. I love using it to split my Tremoverb's loop between it's power section and the power section of my KMD XV100SD. If I want to get super freaky off-kilter trem sounds I can also run the trem on my Tremoverb.

Here's my board.

Image

I hook it up like this.

Guitar >

Rocktron Loop 8 switcher: loop 1 = SansAmp used as volume/midrange boost, loop 2 = Systech Harmonic Energizer single band parametric eq + distortion, loop 3 = Crybaby 535, loop 4 = Danelectro Childog octave set for octave ^, loop 5 = BAT LSTR fuzz > input Mesa Tremoverb head.

Mesa Tremoverb FX loop send routed back to Rocktron Loop 8: loop 6 = 3ms Phaseur Fleur with the loop output sent to my Gig FX Chopper (the Chopper is not in a loop, it's always in the signal path) and the Chopper's stereo outs are sent to the stereo ins of the Echolution 2D, and it's stereo out go to the FX returns of my Mesa Tremoverb (left) and my KMD XV100SD (right).

With my 4x12 on one side, and my ported(1) and open back(1) 2x12's on the other it sounds huge, and works across all styles of music.
