Korg pitchblack hum issue

Post by vegedge »

Picked up a korg pitchblack today used and it makes my other pedals hum insanely. I've tried it on battery, and plugged in. Really bums me out!! Any ideas ? Current set up ... Tele custom > korg pitchblack > joyo ud> russian black muff > traynor yba3

Sounds like a grounding issue. Make sure to check your cables.
Does it hum when you use it by itself? Any difference if put at the end of the chain?

I have a Korg Pitchblack that had the same issue; mine turned out to be a bad power jack. The pedal worked (and would even power others through it's "Out" power jack) but added a super obnoxious hum.
Special low-frequency version.

My pitch black just started doing this, super bummed. It had worked fine for years but now it makes my amp hum - whether plugged in or on battery. I think I'll take it apart this afternoon. I don't know what I'm doing but hoping there will be something super obvious.

(Plugged in = Carl Martin power supply, not some cheap one spot type thing)
