Awesome. I would love to get a band happening but in my area they are all into country and western. And not cool country either. They all think a good country album should be recorded in Nashville, fucking Keith Urban wannabes. I don't think crazy oscillating fuzz would be on the menu. So I'm pretty much stuck here alone. No one to jam with.
Well, I'm driving an hour both ways to do it. Its the same deal here. I live north of Atlanta, in a crappy little town, but I drive into Atlanta to play. Its a long drive, and I'm still deciding if its worth it, but after tonight, I'm leaning towards Yes.

It would be a 3 hour drive for me to find my kind of fuzz people, and I don't own a car. So that leaves me up shit creek.

Drum machine + loop pedal, man. I still want to do this. I'd be happy with just me and a drummer if I could find one locally that didnt just want to play shitty metal or phish ripoffs.

Yeah I use band in a box sometimes but it's not the same as jamming with real human beings. Plus it would just be good also having someone to smoke bongs and drink beer with also. Band in a box is a tea totaler and says no to drugs

yeah i need to find new people to jam with....

BUT
in bass modding news, i saw a band tonight where the bass player was using the long scale squier jag (same as mine)
but he has gutted it, but a humbucker in the bridge and a solid pickguard with no holes
with a pink and white colour scheme :!!!:
sounded amazing too

so between that and this thread, i am feeling pretty keen to mess with my bass
but i need amp money :picard:

Back from the dead! And I did...NOTHING!

JK, I painted it.

I didn't know I was gonna be in the picture. But there it is. I was going to do a lot more to it, but my Bass vi GAS is too strong to put any money into this. I will get a heavier bridge at some point and maybe some ultralite tuners on it to balance the dive.

So, here she is. One of a kind logo-free Squier jag in CARBON MIST!

I'm really happy with the color. A few blemishes but whatever. Next time I do something like this, I'm gonna try staining.

NOICE!

Just wanted to chime in on the Alumitones. I <3 them.
Interesting thing happend with a cab, alumitones in my PJ equipped Kramer, and a friend with actives in the bass.
He had scored an old Kustom 3x15 that had been taken apart. And asked if I could wire it up for him. Easy peasy so he brought it over, I got to it a few days later and found one of the speakers had some holes in the cone. I let him know what his options were yada yada, long story short, I patched, and tried it out with My Kramer. It was LOUD and you could hear the fucked up speaker being not happy.
He came by to pick it up and tried it out with his active pickup equipped bass. With the same amp in place, settings untouched from when I tried it. Much quieter and no weird speaker noise.
My take away from all this is that it confirms Lace's claims of High output, low resistance. I mean the signal was WAY stronger than shit that basically has a built in boost. It does this while sounding like a very clear passive pup. (Through non broken speakers anyways.)

Anyways, I hope you can find another set for cheap. I have them in all my primary guits, aside from the XL-8
