Elliott Smith tunes are usually a whole step down with drop tunings as well.

Check out Black Rebel Motorcycle Club or BRMC for short. A lot of my favorite bands use open c or some sort of c tuning. The Kills, Qotsa, Soundgarden, and BRMC.

A lot of Pavement is in cgagbe and dadabe or some variation.

I have a guitar in double drop Bb atm cus I wanted to play "Ohio" by Neil Old last night, and don't have a guitar with strings that are light enough to do double drop D. May put it in Bb equivalent of DADGAD and jam on Kashmir for a bit.
