I tried Audulus & I think it has some of the best delay I've heard ever.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Tip: split the signal before the delay, split the signal again after the delay set full wet and try to mix some distortion or filter on the repeats...
Good deals: OsbornKT, Phantasmagorovich, UglyCasanova, DarkAxel, Skip, D.o.S, ColdBrightSunlight, Eivind August, Goroth

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I split the signal before and after already, but I'll try the filter too.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Finally got a system going (cross posting because hype)
(Atomosynth Koe / Pittsburgh InOut / Intellijel uFold II / Doepfer WASP / skully make noise mult)
I was a bit worried from my past experience with a microkorg that maybe I just wasn't a synth guy, but I've definitely been bitten by the bug now. I guess the problem was that I just couldn't control twenty different parameters with the same LFO.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
So im GASing for a modular synth for droning and spacy ambient stuff. Ive been doing some reseach and I think I know what I need to start out. but still would like some guidence and feedback on what ive been looking at.
Heres what im thinking:

i plan on getting a happy ending kit as well. and using midi from ableton via a usb > midi hook up. Any suggestions to filters or a better osc. I liked the demos of the wasp and maths that i heard. and the doepfer osc seemed like a good place to start or possibly spend a little more on the osc and go with a dixie?
I will probably buy this slowly, starting with the happy ending kit, the a-110, wasp, and outs first
any feedback or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
You need a VCA so that you can hear what you are doing, have envelopes affect volume etc.. Unless the Maths does it, it is supposed to do most anything.
The real power of VCAs is when you have enough so that you can modular the modulators.

i find that making spacey drone stuff is kind of hard on the modular, but if you're running it with Live, you should be able to add lots of cool delay and reverb, and have a ball. Honestly, I would start with a fairly big rack, but only about half filled up. Then you'll start making music, and figure out what you REALLY want to add.

That's some big money stuff though. Someone who's just starting would probably be better served with some basic modules and some software.
