Help me choose an overdrive!!

Post by KaosCill8r »

After an overdrive build disaster I've decided that I'm not going to build again. Built more pedals that have worked and only one that hasn't but I can't deal with the fuck around of troubleshooting. So I've decided to buy a decent versatile overdrive because I need one and to soften the crushing blow of my build failure.

I've narrowed it down to 2
The SS/BS Mini
Fuzzhugger Arc Flash

I'm steering more towards the Arc Flash because of price and because I already have one of Toms pedals. A Fuzz Huger which is an awesome fuzz.
The Mini would also be nice. I know it is quite popular around these parts. It's just a bit out of my price range.

What do you guys recommend?

I am open to other choices. Budget is about $150.00 AUD. That's Aussie dollars for those not sure.
Please no Boss, strictly no Danelectro (his homophobe politics suck) and no mass produced crap. Just approved ILF builders.
Thanking you in advance. Pms regarding pedal 4 sales are welcome as well as shark tank builders.

I've always loved the sounds of the arc flash. The AFO especially, which is no longer offered I believe. I'd get it. I have a mini, and love it, but if it's not in your price range, do what you can. It's not like you're settling for something boring.

The fact that it does fuzz and OD is always a plus. Both units do this in very different ways. I'm sure you could off the arc plus twenty bucks for the mini in the bst.

Maybe check out The Internet from Dwarfcraft, used shoud be in your range. Really nice textures and with three gain stages can get into nice fuzz territory.

Arc flash is one of the best and most versatile pedals out there.
Stop reading and buy it.

You should also look for the Mid-Fi Overdrive.

Arc Flash ordered and paid for. Just have to wait for him to build and post it. Let's hope U.S.P.S doesn't burn me like the last time I ordered something from the U.S. Super excited to have some more Fuzzhugger on my board. :yay:
