Just played a 'used' red Manta Ray 290 at Guitar Center Roseville, MN last Sunday....I kinda felt something was amiss, as that guitar was way too nice for GC and listed pretty low...have your friend check it out in person (not listed online?!), and good luck!

ETA, update from friend:

The Manta Ray in Roseville is a gear-shuffle. It's the same one that I looked at at Oakdale that Bob told me about.
Say thanks to your fuzz-forum dudes, and tell them that I owe them a burger or something, for keeping their eyes open. That's awesome of them.
