Still digging your EQD Disaster Transport Sr?

Post by synthezatory »

Okay, it's that time again when your current delay pedal doesn't really satisfy your nagging ears  ..

Bought the Disaster Transport Sr a while ago, and returned it for few reason and popping switch issue. Loved that thing, the nutty modulation & reverb really compliments the 2 delays voicing on board. I feel like I want to revisit this pedal again. For those who owns/had own it, still digging them or why'd you sell it? Is it more like a novelty delay pedal rather than being a main/primary unit?

I'm using an Alter Ego X4 at the moment, although it sounds pretty good.. it doesn't give me that smile and oomph when playing it. Nothing sort of magical coming out of it, imo. Wondering if the Sr would be a good replacement, and maybe plus a normal flashback down the line to cover other/general utilities.

I still use mine. Really like it.

I use it as my primary two delays. One for shorter simpler delay and one longer with a hint of modulation.
So much you can do with it.
Mine had some technical issues and Earthquaker fixed it within a week.

I let mine go for two reasons: the noise floor and if I threw it in as a partial trade, I got a guitar at a really cheap price. The modulation was pretty amazing on it, though.

The mod- delay would not do more than one repeat. They replaced everyting exept the box. Now it works perfect.
Very quickly. Great customer service.

that happened to mine too! i sold it shortly after, just not intuitive at allll to me and the knobs were really hard to read while standing
sounded nice but lacked functionality

I use a Jr, different kettle of fish I know, but I dig it. My only gripe is that there seems to be a noticeable amount of hiss when used with high amounts of fuzz, but I have a feeling that whatever gives the pedal that sparkle in the top end which helps definition is the same thing bringing these frequencies out.
I find it practical, maybe you need to simplify? Sometimes you can have too many options.

Good call, fellas.. I think I'll just keep my AEX4 then. These cool delays in the market seems like fun & cool toys, but at the end of the day we'll need a good workhorse especially as a gigging musician. I'll keep my eyes on some other inexpensive companion to toy around with sometimes in the future. Thanks for playing! :thumb:

Like I said, noise floor…the white noise drove me kind of batty.

Yeah it's cool if you're hammering out a passage, but not great for sparse sections.

Love my Jr. One of the best sounding delays for me...

Love how it cuts through in the mix.
Thats why its still on my board. I never had those problems with the noise.

Interesting. Yeah it definitely jumps out once you step on it, and the notes stay nice and clear, which I love....maybe the noise floor only effects some units?
Overall I still think its a badass delay.

I thought it was like a lofi digital thing and some noise was to be expected because it is filtered uniquely.
