Got mine an hour ago and HELL. YES.
This is some real shit.
Epically slow sweeps made me giddy, crazy fast into ringmod territory with fuzz was a robot mess. Totally stoked on this bad boy.

I'm jealous and I've got one coming. It's on the way to Oz. Luckily, so am I. Hope we arrive at the same time.

How's the headroom? I REALLY crank my fuzzes and end up getting volume drop with some modulation, very frustrating.DannDubbleEwe wrote:Got mine an hour ago and HELL. YES.

Re: Infanem: Compact Faye Sing
Mine came in the mail today. Here's a close-up for anyone wondering about the finish:

And here it is in action, with a 1966 DeArmond volume pedal running as a CV pedal with a TRS insert cable (and a Fuzz Face in front of it):

Used that setup to do a quick demo of the Faye Sing and the DeArmond plugged into the bottom jack to control the phase sweep. Guitar is 67 SG Jr into a Vox AC4TV, recorded straight into an iPad. Faye Sing is running at six stages, Feedback knob cranked high, Mix about one o'clock, Speed on high but Rate set fairly low. Demo starts with clean guitar and nothing but. You'll hear the phaser kick in after 30 seconds, sweep set to full (toe down on the volume pedal). Then you'll hear me messing with the sweep.
I'll try to do a proper demo (with fuzz) when I get used to it some more. If there's any particular feature anybody wants to hear, let me know.
Really like the Faye Sing so far. Spent 30 minutes or so trying to make it sound like a Phase 90 (which is the only phaser I've ever really used) before I realised I was better off letting it do its own thing. Amazing amount of options on offer.
One thing I did notice was that when I switched the Oscillation Speed Range switch to Ring I heard a faint but high-pitched buzz, even when the pedal was in by-pass. Anyone else notice that?

Re: Infanem: Compact Faye Sing
It's pretty awesome! I like the boost too, fixes any volume drop issues. We need to start sharing settings. So far I've gotten kind of a robot like Dan mentioned, an octave down type sound (which was weird as fuck), and insane bubbly phasing. Well plus all the normalize stuff, but pffttt. That's no fun. lol

^ Sharing settings is an excellent idea, jwar. So many options in this pedal it can be hard to know here to start.

Re: Infanem: Compact Faye Sing
^ Your wish, my command.
Mucking around today with the same setup but a different guitar, a 1981 Greco Super Real Strat. Using the middle pickup because that's the way I pulled it out of the case. This time the DeArmond is plugged into the top CV jack to control the rate, which works really well. And I'm using the Fuzz Face.
Used these settings on the CFS to get a kind of P-funk Eddie Hazel sound:

Here are the clips, a quick riff and chord progression. First up with four stages and then the expression pedal:
Same riff (plus excess wankage) but running six then eight stages of modulation. Makes things increasingly wet and spacey:
Oh, and I think I figured out what that weird sound I was getting using the Ring setting was. Only happens when the Rate control is turned way up, which somehow makes it microphonic to my amp. Very odd but very easy to avoid.
