STOLEN GEAR. COLUMBUS, OHIO

Post by Dronefacemcgee »

This morning out bands can got broken into in Columbus, Ohio

They took a fender modern player tele with a substantial crack in the finish by the 12th fret, a modern player jaguar stained brown finish with no knobs and a few indentions near the pots and pickups. A squier Japanese cream pbass.
They also took our pedals boards but with no real way to tell it's ours I don't think well get them back

Thanks guys!

Sorry for any errors I'm on my phone.

GRYSCL(greyscale) it was at a Best Western near a Sam ah and guitar center and a ford repair center.

My phones about to die so I'll provide better details as soon as I can grab a charger

if you haven't already you should let that sam ash & guitar center know about it, creeps might turn right there to sell 'em.

Seems typical for columbus, never had gear stolen from there, but used to travel doing commercial hvac installs, and had my van robbed of all my tools while staying at a cbus hotel, after talking with some the local trade laborers, I found out its a common practice, and the thieves typically work in groups, and like clearing out whole lots, a couple of my tools showed up a week later, as I got a call from a pawn clerk, by that time I was out of that shithole, and it was my companies problem...

i've lived here for about 5 years and had some books stolen off my front porch right before christmas a few years ago. knock on wood but it didn't start happening to music gear (that i've known of) until real recently. dunno what's up... just gotta be careful what part of the city you're staying in and take inside what you can...

cbus is an awesome city, long as you aren't in a ghetto part or a rich but boring part.

Unloaded our music stuff into the front room of our house in Columbus in 2011 after a show. Someone left the door unlocked. Stuff was stolen. I guess people go around in Columbus just trying to open doors to steal stuff. Also had my bike stolen from my back porch at a different place in Columbus when it was locked there for half an hour while I ate dinner at 5PM.

I would like to say they'll just go flip it quick locally, but I think Columbus crooks are pretty into it.

Sorry :(

Yah columbus seems to have a reputation for this sort of shit, other places I would recommend to try to stay clear of if traveling the midwest is Gary,IN, and Flynt, MI. Those two are also notorious for your "robbing squads". Ive learned my lesson the hard way, and as big of a pain in the ass as it is, I always unload valuables into my room anywhere I go now.
