Acoustic pickups

Post by kbit »

Anyone have any experience with aftermarket pickups that can be fitted to an acoustic that doesnt have a pickup? Specifically ones that can play nice with fuzz and other pedals

I know I could make a contact moc fairly easy but dont know if it'd sound that great.

I love the LR Baggs M1A pickup, but I haven't used it with fuzz. Clean, however, it's thick and warm, so I think that would transfer well in the fuzz realm.
I do have some fuzzsperience with the Fishman Matrix Infinity. I've got one in a Martin 12 string and use it exclusively for drone.
Feedback is my end result though, so if you want something that'll take fuzz and feedback minimally, maybe look into the Fishman NeoBuster, which incorporates a sound hole mute with the pickup.

I bought the seymour duncan humbucker woody pickup. It was cheap, it works fine, played through my pedalboard alright. I just needed a pickup for this solo gig I had at an art gallery. When I turned on my fuzz they told me to turn down. I mostly played it through my DMM and digitech reverb boxes though. Did the job well enough.
