how long is that going to stay relevant. i kind of miss "interfacing" w/ bands, putting there songs on my profile, leaving comments et cetera. i mean is that all myspace is good for now. just a free website for musician. i mean even the term "myspace band" has lot its validation now in many respects. or maybe i'm wrong...IDK...

:idk:

probably forever, or until something better come along, nothing really has, maybe muxtape.

just get one, then we can be friends on yet another social networking site.

it is what i am kind of debating now. do i really want to do it. is what i have really worth putting up on myspace. do i want to just keep giving cassette tapes to a handful of friends. & have it be more word of mouth or organic. or just stay remain an anonymous "outsider" bedroom tweaker. just depends.

i'm kind of sick of being an INTERNET wastoid anyway... SHIT SUCKS !!!

I suppose it would be different for you because your in ATL, lots of people there to appreciate music. I live in a middle of nowhere town, and only some of the people at my school like my music.

I guess I'm looking at this thread as more of a way for one-man-bands to get their names out there, or bands that live in BFE. It's still proven that the best way to get heard and gain a fan base is to tour. For some of us that isn't an option.

that's a vast misconception. its like a vaccum here now. it literally might as well be middle-of-nowhere. considering how big the metro-area is here, yeah there a lot of people here. but the "appreciation" of music. that is a whole 'nother story.

in general. the INTERNET is good for networking, promotion, making contacts & stuff but i was just wondering about myspace. now...

myspace is still usefull for networking from band to band, but even that is getting more difficult.Just use it to host your music and get a few emails of other bands. Do a facebook to talk straight to your fans. or else start a blog and feature your music.
