Tried it on both a 2x15 and a 4x12 today, both sounded good. But the 2x15 was amazing...

You were right! It is so big though! I wanna keep it as small as possible while still being loud enough...Chankgeez wrote:

Also compared it to another Bassman 50. Mine had a lot more low end. Why I dont know. Not sure when the other one is from.

It's a trade off. I think a 2x15 is a little more manageable than a 4x12 though.myrrh wrote:You were right! It is so big though! I wanna keep it as small as possible while still being loud enough...Chankgeez wrote:
2X12? Probably nothing smaller than that.
(Nice that yours puts out some killer low end.

Yeah think I will go with a 2x12 if I find the right one. Is it possible to make a Orange cab (16ohms I think) into 4 ohms?

Was one of the unlucky few who couldn't log on ILF at all for a couple weeks or I'd have responded.
Used Bassman heads (BF/SF/whatever) for years out of preference - they were cheap as dirt at one point since nobody wanted them back then.
1x15 was what I settled for for projection and weight and size.
JBL or clone on the speaker.
Would just adjust EQ as needed if I went brighter but with the JBLs it wasn't really necessary.

The 2x15 w/Bassman is a standard option and response, for a reason. Great sound.
I generally prefer convertible cabs but closed back is better for 15s IMO.
But I also generally prefer half stack 4x12s with 50w amps, especially British Bassman derivatives...but also the American originals. With G12H30s.

Maybe I need to get some 15s later... Or a single one.
