What pedals would you like to see 424 produce?

Post by culturejam »

We want your opinions. :!!!:

Let the bros at 424 Studios know what kind of pedals you'd like to see us produce for sale. No idea is too wacky or unrealistic. But there are limits to everything, of course.

So post your ideas, concepts, wishes, etc. I promise that every idea will at least be considered. ;)

We have some ideas now for a few different mojo'd out fuzz pedals, an original optical phaser, and a couple different delays, for starters.

What have you got in mind?

You asked, culturejam, I'll tell you.

This one:

"Noise addition
Noise (hiss, rumble, etc) is deliberately added to the input signal. If this is done with restraint and matching the input signal envelope, it can add a breathing effect like the hiss of air in a flute.
Filtered low frequencies can add a growling quality."

Description lifted from R.G. Keen's website.

I'm still interested in the LAL Sandstorm, but there can probably never be too many options of pedals of this type for me. Especially if it's cheaper than the Sandstorm. :summon:

^ what Chank said

also, I'd really like to see a feedback looper/hard limiter combo, that loops and 'smashes' the signal, overloading it with feedback and clipping but keeping it to a controllable volume level.

Yeah, I probably should've mentioned the Airwaves too and I should probably add it to my want list as well, but more noise pedal options is even better.

Any lfo effect synced with another lfo effect. Simplest is probably a simple phaser and simple trem. I know, DOD has already done it but who cares. It would be rad.

I mentioned this idea in a ss/bs thread, but I'd like to see a super high gain fuzz with a gate and a momentary switch to lift the gate for feedback squeals. Maybe a knob to set the gate threshold.

Stuff with ways to modify the LFO, or modify the envelope.
Combining LFO and envelope stuff. For example, using an envelope to modify the shape of the LFO.
Imagine the Fnord, but controlling the blend between the two fuzzes with an LFO. And then have the LFO shape modified by the envelope. Or the rate.

Simple circuits but with odd ways of controlling them. I'm kinda hooked on envelope stuff and wacky LFOs but you could apply this philosophy to anything and get cool results.

The Penny Pedals Low Fuzz is a great example of a simple circuit with an odd control set that makes it really interesting. Rather than traditional gain and so forth you control the voltage and the bass content going into the fuzz to vary how it sounds.

I always want parallel fuzz: Wild and wooly on one side, tighter and more overdriven on the other. Each with separate tone and gain controls. Maybe a single volume with a balance control between the voices, maybe each side gets its own volume. Whichever's easiest.
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.
