Yup. I see them go for about that pretty often. Usually the vintage ones, but occasionally the new ones too. I made an offer on the one I have now (they wanted $200 but I offered $155+free shipping and got it). I keep an eye on them and still see them go for that. And they're a lot of fun to play with. The BF-2B has a different chip with less stages. BF-2B is slightly less "metallic"/robotic. As has been mentioned, it is more subtle and I think it works best as an "almost chorus"/leslie just to add general swirliness. This wasn't recorded with a flanger, but the sound is pretty well exactly what you can dial in on the BF-2B.BassIsBad wrote:The A/DA sounds really cool but it's pricy
How does the bass BF-2 sound different from the bass version?

I can't remember, but I don't think it has different input and output caps. The BF-2 doesn't cut any bass in my experience (but that's only downtuned guitar to be fair). If you want airplanes and aliens, but also subtler stuff, get the BF-2. If you only want nice, lighter sounds, get the BF-2B. But don't get it just cos it's a bass pedal and you play bass.

If you're handy with a soldering iron, the BYOC Analog Flanger sounds DELICIOUS on bass! My guitar player built one for his board but found it to be a little too dark for his tastes, so I tried it out, and it was PERFECT.

Some seriously deep sounds to be found there. Not a simple build, though, from what I understand.

I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

I'll also put in my vote for the BF-2. But I will also say that I can get quite close to my BF-2 tone with the Source Audio Orbital.

Has anyone played an Ibanez PC10 Prime Dual Chorus? It's got a chorus mode and a flange mode, footswitchable, stereo outs. My Ibanez CF7 is fun as hell but has a very unreliable switch and introduces significant clock noise to the chain. Just saw this pedal on the information super highway and thought it might be a good replacement.
They also had a DCF10 Chorus/Flanger but I don't know what the difference is, or anything about the 10 series, really.

I didn't like the BF-2B, I suspect the normal BF2 is cooler by how lame the 2b was.

I can't help you on the specifics on those pedals because i haven't played the PC10 or DCF10, however I can assure you that the 10 series is way better than the tonelok series as far as reliability goes. The switches as good if not better than Boss switches. I have a DML10 and haven't experienced any clock noise but that may differ between models. I liked the CF7 but I would expect a 10 series pedal to sound a lot nicer.friendship wrote:Has anyone played an Ibanez PC10 Prime Dual Chorus? I just order a Flanger Hoax the other day. I'll let you know how that turns out. It's huge, so yea, that sucks, but seem fucking awesome.

If I want bass chorus or flange I reach or my venerable Boss ME-6B. Various options, from full range to hi/low band stuff.
Big, ugly, and yellow, but I've had one for a long, long, long time.
