You and me both.
I just describe the band as scary. Two screaming vocalists, angstsy lyrics, thrashy guiatars.
You should just do more of a public service describe them as shitty.

Dude, you'd better stop dissing the Blood Brothers or I'm going to set fire to your face on fire.

Unless I'm totally mistaken, their lyrics are far from angsty. In fact, I recall an interview back when Crimes came out about how they didn't see the point in angsty lyrics and thought that hardcore/screamy music should empower people or something. I'm pretty sure the theme of Crimes is sexual abuse and such. It was that long ago, so I could be remembering wrong.... but anyways.... I'm always a fan of bands that do something that pisses everyone off, especially if they do it well. I got to see them at least twice, if not a few times. The weird show had this line up: Dredg, Blood Brothers, headlined by Coheed and Cambria (Good Apollo era). My friend and I loved all those bands at the time, but the audience was definitely divided

Edit: I should say that I usually like bands that piss people off. I can't stand Peaches, for instance. :idk:

They were also pretty political without just being like "fuck bush, amirite?" It was all about basic everyday life filtered through these weird surrealist nightmare scenarios.

Like Celebrator off of Crimes was about the war, but it wasnt so overt.

"Every soldier spews black cum
From their victory hard on, yeah!
And the clown in the flight suit
Is crackin jokes to the camera crew.

Those wolf faced gladiators
Always ruin a party
They lick your punch
Bomb out your windows
Feel up your wife
Chew up your clothes"

So basically, the whole "Mission Accomplished!" fiasco, and soldier brutality against innocent civilians. At least, that's what I got out of it.

Did I mention I love this band? Even my username is a Blood Brothers reference.

I stopped listening to them completely around the time of the this adultery is ripe album so I hadn't heard that FIYAAA FIYYAAA song until someone posted it on another board a few days ago. I listened to it and musically it's actually kinda awesome?! Like what's going on with all the really repetitive guitars and stuff is rad. Just those vocals, those sassy fucking vocals. Reminds me far too much of 2003 and formerly straightedge sex pests in white belts.

(when you think about it the massive controversy over a simple belt colour was ridiculous).

I absolutely loved the Blood Brothers. When Young Machetes came out I was into pretty hard but it doesn't seem to have as much sway over me as the other records do.
This was back in my days when I just loved the shit out of the sassiness.

A lot of music came out of these dudes when they split. Neon Blonde and Jaguar Love are both very meh. Past Lives is not bad. Head Wound City, on the other hand, is fucking awesome.

I'm probably going to go on a Blood Brothers kick today and hope that they tour so I can see them again. I've seen them play with AFI, These Arms Are Snakes, Cursive, Big Business/Against Me, and a handful of headlining shows. When they did the Young Machetes tour they played this huge room at Michigan State University. It was strange but also awesome.

White belts just signifies a group of people who really dug really bad music, to me.

Oh yeah totally. For me it was watching a bunch of people reinvent their identities over night and leaving their politics and ethics and desire to not act like a shitty person behind with their xxl what happens next shirts. Like as a signifier of that, totally understandable. As an objective thing to get pissed off about from the point of view of 2014? Kinda funny.

I thought the only people that wore jncos listened to Papa Roach and Hoobastank.
