Phrase Loopers with MIDI?

Post by fldrvr »

Hey all- wondering what phrase loopers out there also have MIDI IN/OUT/THRU ports, if even just for tempo.

I know the Line 6 M5 has MIDI- What else?

Thanks

The Boomerang III has one. I've only ever used it to update it, but I know you can use it with the Sidecar, which is a second pedal that adds more function to it, and as a MIDI clock.

I've used the Boss RC50 with an Elektron Machinedrum and it sync'd all baadass'n'such. Like, plug it up and bam.

Pigtronix Infinity has midi, RC300. Maybe the RC20/30? I can't remember. I'm such a help!

M5 doesn't have looping. M9 does though. I think the midi can only control start, stop, half speed, and reverse. Still excellent features for a looping multi effect.

The Looperlative Lp2 takes clock, not sure about the Lp1. Also full MIDI control of the Echoplex Digital Pro!
(likewise for the looper in Ableton...) Image

Huh, my bad, you're right. I assumed it did since it claims to have the same models as the 9/13

Most of the loopers that are bigger than a boss pedal have Midi, and mostly just for timing...

FYI, in my experience the midi implementation on the m13 sucks, I've been playing with sequencing it by sending cc's from my rm1x and it often ignores commands or freezes up and none of the looper functions (midi or physical pedals) work until it's turned off and back on.
