Circuits You Can Use

Post by chuckjaywalk »

I do well with Big Muffs. I currently have 3 on my board (Caprid, Hoof, Cloven Hoof) and I could easily add an IC Muff or a Deluxe.

Monophonic effects, like the Bit Commander. Since I play slowly and simply, I mesh well with monophonic effects.
My force of habit, I am an insect
I have to confess I'm proud as hell of that fact

Yep, me too.

This is also true for me. I've liked every fuzzhugger I've played. Can't say that for any other fuzz manufacturer.

Ring modulators
Digital pedals that track badly and glitch
Envelope-controlled effects that aren't tame
Modulation pedals with the knobs set to the most extreme setting
Chorus/detune (i want everything to sound like Tweez)
Modulated delays like the ibanez DML with stupid ranges of modulation
Old digital reverbs
white noise generators
distortions that cause feedback as soon as you turn them on
heavy heavy overdrives
octavers

Phasers. I love them all.
The line 6 m series, I had an M13 for years, sold it a couple years ago and now I just got an m9 and bam! I programmed 4 scenes in about 15 min. It's like riding a bike. And it sounds good even compared to my timefactor.
Oh the eventide factor pedals! I LOVE the lack of menus, just a lot of knobs asking to be twiddled.

I find the Superfuzz the only "classic" fuzz circuit I really love.

I love the Big Muff for what it is but I wanna stand out with my fuzz sound, of course everyone should own at least one though.

Got to mention The Great Destroyer. It destroys.
It's like having 4 different fuzzes andi can access them by turning a knob or flipping a switch ON MY BASS.

OCD
Basically any delay. I don't know. I can always find useable sounds. (FWIW, I don't include GB24 in this -- that's just, well... to quote myself: "Some kind of weird arpeggiating pitch shifting catch all the pokemon and do the weirdest shit delay" so yeah)

Megalith
Meathead Dark - I can use for anything I like to play, on bass or guitar.
HM2 (and stacked with an EQ or tube screamer)
Pharaoh

I think those are my keeper pedals, and the Seppuku Octave Drone, though I like that for 2nd amp noise in a stereo setup, rather than main amp dirt.

Used to love Chorus, now not so much.

The venerable Space Echo, how I love you.
The Roland GR-55, the unappreciated herald of grand everything.
Devi's forgotten masterpiece, the Test Pattern.
The overlooked Quadraverb.

All these are things I *need*.
